4 RECIPES YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS RAYA HAJI

The irresistible Ayam Masak Merah, the flavourful Sambal Goreng, and the rich and savoury Beef Rendang… This coming Raya Haji, impress your family and friends with these three Raya recipes that you can easily prepare at home.

1. Ayam Masak Merah

Also known as Spicy Tomato Chicken, this piquant dish is a combination of spice and sweetness, and can be paired with white or tomato rice. You’ll need an oven to bake the chicken, and a pot to simmer the dish after. 2. Sambal Goreng

We love this dish especially because of the tempeh (fermented soya bean cake), which gives Sambal Goreng its distinctive taste and texture. 3. Sayur Lodeh With Lontong

Opt for this simple and comforting dish if you want something soupy, tasty and filling. The beancurd and tempeh are fried to golden perfection, while the gravy is simmered to a rich and savoury taste. It takes a little extra effort if you intend to make the rice cakes from scratch. Otherwise, opt for those ready-made ones that are available in supermarkets or your neighbourhood wet market.

4. Beef Rendang

Irresistible aroma, piping hot and tender meat, and that rich, savoury gravy… This is what you will get out of this iconic Asian dish. Within its extensive list of ingredients, time is the most important component to create the perfect Beef Rendang. It takes about two hours to simmer the meat until tender, which means you will need a pot with a base that prevents your food from over-burning even with long hours of cooking – a thing that Thermos® Shuttle Chef® is designed to do.
