BARLEY WATER

Ingredients:

  • Pearl Barley, 1 tablespoon
  • Jobs Tears Barley, 1 tablespoon
  • Hot Boiling Water

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat a Thermos® Food Jar by pouring in hot boiling water, close the lid tightly, give it a good shake and let it sit aside for 10 minutes. Discard water.
  2. Rinse the pearl barley and jobs tears barley with hot water once, and soak them into a new fresh of hot water for 5 minutes. Drain water.  
  3. Place all ingredients into the preheated Food Jar in this order: 250ml hot water, pearl barley, jobs tears barley, 250ml hot water, and cover the lid immediately.
  4. Give it a good shake and let it sit aside for 4 hours.

 

Notes & tips:

  • This recipe is based on using the Thermos® Food Jar JBM-500 or JBM-501.
  • You may leave the barley water in the Food Jar for up to 12 hours. The barley will be warm then and can be taken immediately to soothe the throat.
  • You may sweeten the taste by adding Manuka Honey (or any sweetener of your choice) when the barley water is warm or cooled down.
  • The barley water can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days when stored in a glass jar.
