BAMBOO SHOOT CHICKEN SOUP

Serve 1

Ingredients:

  • Chicken drumstick, 60 grams (cut into small pieces)
  • Bamboo Shoot, 20 grams
  • Chinese Mushroom, 1 (steep in water and cut into small pieces)
  • Ginger, a pinch (cut into small thin strips)
  • Spring Onion, a pinch (cut into strips of 4 to 5cm)
  • Garlic, 1 clove (sliced)
  • Chinese cooking wine, 2 tablespoons
  • Sea Salt, 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper, to taste (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with chinese cooking wine and sea salt for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a Thermos® Food Jar by filling it with hot boiling water full till the inner rim, close the lid tightly and let it sit aside for 5 minutes. Discard water.
  3. Add bamboo shoots and pour in hot boiling water till the inner rim. Close lid tightly and let it sit aside for 10 minutes. Drain water from the Food Jar, and set bamboo shoots aside. 
  4. Add marinated chicken pieces and pour in hot boiling water till the inner rim. Close lid tightly and let it sit aside for 1 minute. Drain water. 
  5. Add bamboo shoots, chinese mushroom pieces, ginger strips, spring onions and garlic slices. Pour in hot boiling water full till the inner rim. Close lid tightly and let it sit aside to continue cooking for 3 to 4 hours. 
  6. Before serving, add pepper to taste.

  • This recipe is based on using Thermos® Food Jar JBM-500 / JBM-501
