EATING CLEAN

Hawker food is rich, tasty and affordable – but did you know it’s also known as ‘coolie’ food? You might have noticed that while hawker food is delicious, it consists mainly of simple carbohydrates. It worked well, in the past, for people who needed to do heavy labour. After all, that was the cheapest, most efficient way to feed those in labour-intensive jobs.

But in today’s world, where most of us have to sit in front of a computer all day, we will not do very well with a diet so heavy in simple carbohydrates. Those very health conscious might have already cut them out of their diet!

EATING CLEAN

On the other hand, clean-eating* restaurants have been popping up very quickly. Yet, fresh ingredients and unprocessed food might not be very friendly on your budget. Home-cooking is a great solution to all these problems, and there is a perfect way to keep your lovingly-cooked meals piping hot in a cold office.

Check out our Lunch Tote! It’s got microwaveable tubs and a pair of chopsticks too! How convenient!

Now you can bring your favourite comfort food to work with ease, or check out our Recipes page for more ideas!

*According to fitness magazine (http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/weight-loss/plans/diets/clean-eating/), at its simplest, clean-eating is about eating whole foods, or "real" foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible.
